ESTDEV supports new project in Armenia – Proud Engineers on board

The Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) has announced funding for 11 new initiatives in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, and Belarus this year. One of these projects is now in the capable hands of Proud Engineers.

Together with local partners in Armenia, we will be supporting the creation of a secure and transparent framework for data exchange between banks and the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

Starting in 2025, Armenian citizens are required to submit annual tax declarations. To make this possible, banking and income data must be made available to the tax authority in a structured, secure, and privacy-respecting way. Proud Engineers’ role is to help define how this data moves—from drafting exchange requirements to outlining API specifications and preparing a migration plan.

As our legal expert Kristiina Laanest notes:

“The idea for this project emerged from a long-standing collaboration, during which the need for automated data exchange consistently came up in discussions. At the same time, there is a broader need within Armenia for a data exchange environment that aligns with modern information security and data protection standards while also offering greater control over the exchanged data.”

We are excited to contribute to this transition – building systems that are not only technically sound but also rooted in clarity, trust, and thoughtful design.
