We’re proud to share that Proud Engineers is among the seven initiatives selected by the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV) under their Africa call for proposals.
In collaboration with NGO Mondo, we’re bringing the HK Unicorn Squad experience to Kenya with a clear goal: empowering girls through engaging, hands-on science education.
As part of the project, we are:
• Developing four natural and exact science learning modules tailored to the local context
• Piloting these modules in girls’ science clubs across three schools in Kisumu County
• Reaching over 300 girls, supported by nine Kenyan specialists trained through the initiative
• Leaving a lasting impact by making all teaching materials available for continued use beyond the pilot
When Mondo asked the girls in Kisumu about their favorite subjects, most of them named math and science. The curiosity and enthusiasm are already there — now it’s our turn to help that passion grow.
This is not just a one-off activity. It’s a scalable model that supports gender equality in STEM education and strengthens local capacity.
We’re excited to support the next generation of innovators, scientists, and engineers right at the grassroots level.
Thank you, ESTDEV, for making space for meaningful, locally grounded innovation.
